Why Parkway Products?
Parkway Products is an international supplier of custom plastic injection molding parts and assemblies for a variety of industries with nine manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and two in Mexico.
Capabilities
Parkway has over 75 years of molding expertise, and can assist in the design, material selection and injection molding tool making processes to ensure consistent, quality results from its network of nine North American operations. Parkway specializes in tight tolerance injection molding of commodity, engineered and high temperature resins and compression molding of thermosets, urethanes and elastomeric materials. Parkway has extensive custom injection molding services and experience in the design and production of components sourced in high performance polymers and exotic resins.
A substantial amount of Parkway’s thermoplastic molding is done using engineering grade polymers. Parkway has 192 injection molding machines for thermoplastics ranging from 17 to 1760 Tons. Most plastic molders only offer thermoplastics or thermosets due to the difference in processing techniques, but Parkway provides both. Parkway has 40 machines (50-500 Tons) dedicated to compression, transfer and injection molding of thermosets and is the largest thermoset molder in Mexico.
Thermoplastics and thermosets both use plastic resin based materials, they differ when it comes to how the material retains its shape. Thermoplastics retain their shape after they cool below their melting point, whereas thermosets can keep their shape after they’re heated above their cure point. Used in applications requiring high resistance to heat or chemicals, high performance plastics such as Torlon® PAI and PEEK™ can replace many metals or other traditional high-stress materials. Parkway houses a full portfolio of molding capabilities, including injection molding, compression molding, transfer molding, overmolding, and insert molding.
Parkway’s plastics machining facility has more than 30 CNC machining centers including a combination of fully-automated and manual milling and turning equipment. Capabilities include machined plastics from stock parts or molded components in a wide array of materials, from Nylon to Torlon.
Parkway’s in-house secondary operations include machining, welding, bonding, drilling, tapping and deflashing. Complete product finishing and assembly capabilities include: thermal transfer, painting, plating, pad printing, and silk-screening. Parkway offers specialized molding for a variety of industries and has achieved quality certifications for aerospace (AS9100) and automotive (TS 16949) applications.
Parkway also offers thixomolding: injection molding of magnesium.
